The elbow is a pretty stable joint in general, the basic movements are flexion and extension, and there is an third movement, rotation (pronation and supination). The first exercise (rotating the arms in and out) helps to feel the difference between the properly locked and the "not locked" positions. The second exercise is useful to put a light load in all dimensions of the support where your elbows can move. Do 5 - 5 of each exercises in your warm-up routine!
